Using the Data Library

The Data Library centralizes all your Dumbify data — including tasks, habits, goals, events, tags, and contacts — in one place. It lets you quickly view totals, track storage, and export your data for analysis or backup.

How It Works

The Data Library displays each data category in a clean table view with export options and metadata.

Dashboard Overview
At the top, summary cards show totals for:

  • Tasks, Goals, Habits, and Events

  • Tags and Contacts

  • Storage Used

Data Table
Each row lists:

  • Name — the dataset (e.g., Tasks or Goals)

  • Last Exported — when the data was last backed up

  • Max Size — current storage used

  • Actions — tools for export management

Exporting Data

Quick Export
Use Quick Export to instantly download data in your preferred format:

  • JSON — best for full data backups and integrations.

  • CSV — ideal for spreadsheets and Google Sheets.

  • Excel — native Excel format with multiple sheets and preserved formatting.

Quick Export automatically applies default settings for each dataset.

Custom Export
For more control, select Export instead. The guided export tool lets you:

  1. Choose a Category — pick Tasks, Habits, Goals, Events, or another dataset.

  2. Apply Filters — refine your export by date range or field conditions.

    • Example: “Task Name contains project”

    • Example: “Priority equals urgent”

  3. Select Export Format — choose JSON, CSV, or Excel.

  4. Review Summary — confirm filters, format, and estimated data size before export.

  5. Export Now — download your file.

Data Export Tips

  • Export regularly to prevent data loss.

  • JSON provides complete backups.

  • CSV and Excel are best for spreadsheets and analysis.

  • Apply filters to export only what you need.

  • Use Quick Export for faster, default-format downloads.

Notes

  • The Data Library is read-only — to delete records, go to Settings → Data Management.

  • Large exports may take a few seconds to prepare.

  • Filter settings are cleared when you leave the page.
